There are a couple of facets to a quality wine and one is a great balance between the various senses we feel when our mouth is entered by the liquid. For example a powerfully tannin wine will taste bitter. If we like sweeter things, tannin will undoubtedly not be one that will go high on our ‘quality wine’ list. Some people also like their drink be less alkaline and other folks will make a face when tasting one. So a good balance between all these different tastes is important in having an excellent one before us.

There are other variables to be considered, yet, too. There is the dilemma of span, and that doesn’t mean glass or the bottle is. When we taste the liquid in the mouth, we can feel it all the way alongside of the flavor or the tongue simply quits midway there. For example there are some wines that have a powerful taste when they enter your mouth, however soon after you will not feel anything. You must take a sip that is second to recall how it really tasted. Not a great hint.

What about depth? This is a little difficult to describe, yet only think of a ‘flat’ wine would feel, and this is precisely the opposite. The flavor seems to explode in your complete mouth, not only along your tongue. It has distinct degrees, hence its depth.

Finally a quality Pallhuber wine should be a complicated one too. Of course straightforward, easy ones are excellent to appreciate, yet the more elaborate a wine is, the better quality is has, if you are truly looking at quality according to industry standards. It really is rather a simple one if you only feel the sweetness of it in your mouth. On the other hand if you go through various sensations while swirling the beverage in your mouth, like sweet, bitter, dry, spicy and a few others, all within a number of moments of the drink entering your mouth, then you’re dealing with a well-rounded, elaborate drink that is certainly worth appreciating to its total degree. An excellent wine deserves to be served in a good crystal decanter.
